EPA Section 608 Certification Testing & Proctoring

EPA Section 608 certification is a must-have for anyone working on home or commercial AC and refrigeration systems. Certification & Safety provides the testing, proctoring, and prep training you need to earn your EPA 608 credential. Our goal is to make the process clear, accessible, and aligned with national certification standards.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act requires technicians who maintain, service, repair, or dispose of equipment that could release refrigerants, including R-22 (an HCFC) and R-410A (an HFC), to be certified. Certification & Safety provides access to EPA Section 608 Certification through a closed-book exam covering required material under 40 CFR Part 82 Subpart F. A passing score of 70% is required to receive your EPA Certification card.

🔧 What EPA 608 Certification Is

Core Section – fundamental environmental and safety knowledge.

Type I – servicing small appliances.

Type II – servicing or disposing of high-pressure appliances.
